The western coastline of Maharashtra also known as “Kokan” is about 720-kms long. It extends from Dahanu in the north up to Sindhudurg in south. The areas of Devgad, Dapoli and Ratnagiri are famous for its Alphonso mangoes and also a lot of fish is exported from Ratnagiri port.
The Kokani People are a hearty and festive people by nature. Their love for celebration is deeply rooted in their culture and it finds its expression through the various festivals celebrated throughout the year.

Best time to visit Kokan
The whole region is Humid and there is heavy Rainfall from June to September. The best period to visit Kokan is from November to February as the temperatures are a bit milder with less Humid conditions. But many local people who work outside Kokan do visit in the summer vacations.
