Doha: The Fourth Annual General meeting of Halqa-e-Ahbab Kokan, Qatar (HAKQ) was held on 21st January 2011 at the Indian Culture Centre, Doha, Qatar.
The program began with Quran recitation followed by Hamd.
The program was attended by various dignitaries representing the kokani community from the GCC Countries and India along with the committee members and the kokani community based in Qatar.
The program was hosted by the General Secretary of HAKQ Maulana Siraj Geetay. Initially the Profile, aims and objectives of HAKQ were elaborated, followed by the Annual Report, which was presented by Maulana Siraj Geetay through a slide show, including the various achievements of the HAKQ since its inception on 30th August 2007.
Currently HAKQ, is working on different educational projects in various parts of the Kokan.
The organization has achieved tremendous success in a short span of three and half years and growing day by day.
Mementos were also presented to the various dignitaries who attended the function.
Later on the proposed activities of the HAKQ was presented.
After that, the program continued with speeches by the dignitaries present on stage with each of them applauding the efforts of HAKQ towards progress of the Kokani community.
Finally the Guardian of HAKQ, Mr. Hasan Chougle and the President of the HAKQ, Mr. Fakir Ahmed Kaldane, addressed the audience.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks followed by dinner.
